And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work. ~ 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NRSV)
“In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.” — John 14:2 (NRSV)
There is something beautiful about the image of God’s house as a place with Plenty Good Room. Not just enough room. Plenty! Room for each of us—with our gifts, questions, hopes, struggles, and stories. Room because God’s love is generous, abundant, and wider than we can imagine.
Our stewardship theme for 2027, Plenty Good Room, invites us to notice the abundance intentionally. Moreover, there is abundance God has already placed in our lives and in our community. However, we live in a world that tells us there is never enough… enough time, money, resources, or enough tomorrow.
The Gospel invites us to see things differently. It invites us to see:
There is enough.
There is grace.
There is room.
Stewardship is one way we respond to God’s abundance. Our giving of time, talents, and financial resources makes room for God’s work. Our generosity supports worship, Christian formation, fellowship, pastoral care, and outreach. It helps create a community where people can encounter Christ. They discover their gifts, grow in faith, and share God’s love with others.
Plenty Good Room is ultimately about more than giving. It is about making room. Making room for God, for one another, and making room for the work God is calling us to do together.
As we reflect on stewardship, we are invited to give thanks for what we have received, recognize the gifts entrusted to us, and prayerfully consider how we might share those gifts.
Because there is Plenty Good Room in God’s house, and there is plenty of good work for us to do together.
