Organist and Choir Director
Joseph Robinson

On Palm Sunday, March 29th, we will welcome our new organist, Joseph Robinson, who has served for several years at historic parishes across the United Kingdom.
Much of his ministry was shaped by his long-term tenure at the Church of the Holy Cross in Woking, Surrey, where he served as the full-time Organist and Assistant Choir Director.
His career in England also saw him at the organ consoles of some of the country’s most storied sacred spaces, including All Saints Church in Crondall, Hampshire—a historical Grade I listed building dating back to the early 12th century—and All Hallows Church in Whitchurch, Hampshire, where elements of the chancel reach back to the year 800AD.
In addition to his parish work, he has made several notable appearances, including deputising at St. John’s Cathedral in Portsmouth, Hampshire, performing a private organ recital for Lord and Lady Camoys and their family at their ancestral Stately Home, Stonor Park, Oxfordshire, and appearing as a featured guest organist for the EWTN Global Catholic Network.
His international experience is built upon a strong local foundation. He completed his undergraduate studies in Sacred Music with a focus on the organ at King University in Bristol, TN. During that time, he served as the Organist at Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church in Abingdon, VA.
He is eager to serve our congregation, and his goal is to provide sensitive, technically proficient music that uplifts and enhances the spiritual life of St. James, Greeneville.
In his personal time, he is a dedicated gardener and an avid reader who finds peace outdoors. You may also see him out kayaking or hiking with his dog, Milo, who made the long journey from England to join our East Tennessee community.
Joseph will call the choir back very soon. Please be on the lookout for announcements.
